How can I revise a printing quote for a model that was improperly designed and generated an inaccurate price?

Please see this video and the notes below:

Why this is important:

Occasionally, a client will attempt to upload a model that has design issues such as a manifold errors. This can cause an error with our quoting system, which may give the model a volume of 0 and a printing price quote of $0.01.

We're working on developing a system to automatically correct file errors when the buyer uploads a design; however in the meantime please see the notes below as a workaround for revising the price of a printing quote.

  1. Don't decline the order, revise it!: If the quote is inaccurate, please revise it as necessary. Don't decline the order as it will need to be placed again by the buyer in order to process the transaction.
  2. Adding costs for design: When a client requests an order with design errors, you have an option to add a fee for extra services (such as fixing a model) before accepting an order.
  3. Adding extra costs for printing/shipping: You can also modify the printing cost (override automatic pricing) if there was an error with the quote and add extra costs related to shipping the print when needed.
  4. Buyer accepts/declines updated price: If the quote is revised, the client has the option to accept or decline the revised cost for their order.
Note: In the future, we will allow printers to send invoices to clients directly for print jobs that don't have a 3D model prepared (ie. 3D scan to print). If you have questions about this, please contact support@maker6.com for more information.
